Lazy S Llama Ranch
Amissville, Virginia

About Us

The Lazy S Llama Ranch is located on 18 sprawling acres 10 miles west of Warrenton, Virginia, 1 mile off Route 211, in the Village of Amissville.  Even though we are only 60 miles from Washington, D.C., we are in a beautiful rural area where horse and cattle farms are plentiful and the people are down to earth.  Our Ranch is home to about 50 llamas and has produced more than 40 babies.

We have an extensive selection and variety of llamas to choose from:  Gelded or intact males; unbred or bred females; and new mothers with babies at their side.

Pat and I purchased our first four llamas in 1995.  Our property already had a small barn and we knew we wouldn't need much more than that.  Boy, were we wrong! Only a few short years later, we've grown to a herd of over 50 llamas.  We've expanded the barn several times, built a separate barn for the males, a feeding pen, and a storage barn.  Then, we added fencing, and more fencing, so the males and females could have their own run-ins. And what ranch would be complete without tractors, power mowers and a BobCat ToolCat! As you can see, our little endeavor has become quite an enterprise.

Our llamas are very social and they have been wonderful with the groups of children who come to the ranch.  Several school groups, as well as 4-H groups, have come to learn about llamas. Recently, we had llamas at the Prince William County Fair. Our llamas are halter and lead trained and easy to handle to groom.

Every year we participate in local activites such as D.A.R.E. day at the Rappahannock Elementary School, and a number of Village and Town festivals.   The public is invited to come and tour the ranch.

Pictured to the left is one of our Grandsons, Gus Norris, with a "Tippy", a little girl only minutes old.

All of our llamas are registered with the International Llama Registry and we are members of the Llama Association of the Mid-Atlantic States (LAMAS) and Greater Appalachain Llama and Alpaca Association (GALA). We attend regular meetings of these organizations and seminars to learn all we can about the proper care and training of these wonderful animals.

We have several llamas for sale as well as stud services available.  For the first time owner, we will advise you on building shelters and pens, as well as behavior, proper nutrition and breeding.

We would be happy to meet with you if you have a sincere interest in owning a couple of these beautiful animals for yourself!
